|
Concept Amplifiers has been designed and produced (
in few units) with the
precise porpouse to be the best no-compromise solutions each
one in his cathegory of audio electronics, without thinking to
marketing and production costs. Atlough some of they had some replicas, they
are not commercial products
The main reason of developing so much
expensive electronics ( in terms of research,works time and production costs ), is the need to experiment on field new solutions, with complete
open mind, not thinking to market, not thinking to fashion of the moment or
to audiophile
gurus religions and without any predjudgement on components used and
circuitry adopted. To make this kind of instruments need a great effort but
it's also a great fun for designers
who love challenges. But the most important fact is that these designs and
their production have a great beneficial fall-out on entire our production.
Experimentation help us to step up to new and higher quality levels
and adopt new technolocical solutions.. Some
solution used on RP1000 has benn applied on latest RP010-B MKII, as well as
some solutions used on the Coriolan has been adopted by the Egmont Signature
EV08, Fidelio share some concept with RP7-B and RR88. |

Coriolan |

Although
the Coriolan looks like a classic tube amplifier, it hides a
few hi-tech solutions under the hood, that in addition to the use of a
traditional tube topology makes it the perfect suitable solution for
the mature experienced audiophile, who loves, and is eager to get the
highest natural and transparent reproduction, refusing all special
effects and colorations (present in many of the other tube designs you
can find in the market nowadays)

The use
of vacuum tubes is the more logical solution (from the technical point
of view) when a high voltage swing is needed, and on the other hand,
the use of triode topologies assure the right, coherent, and natural
harmonic distortion pattern, that assisted by some solid state
components (in order to control some auxiliary functions) give the
amplifier high solidity and long time reliability that an amplifier of
this category needs. The amp uses basically EL34 (x4) as power drivers
and 12AX7 (x2) as signal amplifiers.

The
separate and sophisticated power supply is an hybrid design that
basically blends the use of vacuum tubes rectifiers for more
transparency, in this case the legendary 5U4 (x2) and solid state
capacitance multipliers, for higher filtering. The use of
multiple high value capacitors assures the current reserve for the
transients and more dynamics.

The three
position rotary power switch offers a pre-heating standby position, in
order to eliminate the unsafe, power, and components life consuming "always
on" practice. The Coriolan can be safely left in pre-heating stand-by
position, and it is immediately ready for listening while switching it
to "on".

Voltmeters and milli-amperemeter gauges placed on top of the PSU let
the user check the basic driver functions.

Full
balanced topology for the best noise rejection and higher dynamics.

The
Coriolan was totally handmade, with a widely use of non-magnetic metals
all around, and silver wiring. Front panel in aluminum covered by
polished vinyl give a refined and classic look.

Quad Mono topology: Four mono Class-A
single ended amplifiers, two on each channel working in opposed phase to
get a full balanced output, or bridged for the single ended output in
unbalanced operation

Dual Case: Power supply was cased as
separate unit, and it works with RC and active capacitance multipliers,
for an insane whole 2 Farads of filtering capacity !!! (2,000,000 uF
Highest Quality Components: Such as the exclusive Alps RK50 potentiometers,
Elna- LPO capacitors, metal non inductive resistors 0.5% precision, silver
connections, Cryogenically treated selected vacuum tubes, etc.

Intelligent Tube Biasing: a kind of
integrated digital tube tester (one for each channel) make a lot easier to
check the tube efficiency, the tube biasing, and tube matching. A must for
tube-rolling operations.

Intelligent Constant Current Generator:
The constant current generator was cased in a separate internal ventilated
box, this way is possible to reach the optimal temperature in a minute,
and hold it constant along the time. So the amplifier will reach in 60-90
seconds the right temperature for an optimal performance

Pre-heating system: An stand-by system
that leaves the power supply capacitor charged and the tubes filament
"on", to have the amp always ready for listening.
Sound footprint pre-configuration: Through some jumpers on the motherboard
is possible to configure the harmonic pattern configuration (from totally
neutral to an accentuation on the even harmonics) to perfectly match the
source used, headphones, and owner preferences

Fidelio |

Fidelio has been designed in one of the
most classic way: all vacuum tubes, input,output and interstage
transformers.

The special output transfromers make
possible to perfectly match high and low impedance headphome, from 16 to
1000 ohm and the output power is more then enough to drive special
headphones like K100o as well as boxes,

The power on 8 Ohm is motre then 5W RMS
so it is possible to drive high efficency speakers, in our lab it is used
connected to a pair of Klipsh Heresy delivering a very pleasant vintage
worm sound.

One of the peculiarity of this design is
the use of 6SN7 as power output triodes, to make possible this non
common solution we have designed special output transformers

NKK-02 wip
Probably the first vacuum tube amplifier designed for the iPod, it has been
on the market from summer 2005 to 2006, it has been showed at many
exibit dedicated to the iPod and Apple world. |

NKK01-se This
was not a portable unit but an high-end compact and easy to transport
amplifier. It adopeted both RCA analog and USB input with integrated
DAC and was supplied by high capacity battery cells capable to deliver power
for more then 100 hrs ( on laters models )An intelligent battery charger
with multiple AC sockect was supplied in order to make it usable everywhere
in the world. A must vor very demanding audiophile/travellers. It was
discontinued due the the high production costs.
