Input stage use three double triode while the output is a pure A-Class high current current poer unit emploing bipolar power transistors, this hybrid technology make possible to have a direct output without transformer, it offer all the natural sound produced by the input tube stage, without the slow sound typical of all many classic OTL tube amplifiers, we call this technology "enhanced output transmormer less" E-OTL In RP5.3 the best of tubes join the best of transistors.
RP5.3 is an highly musical amplifier, the tube input stage give to the sound the warmth of tubes without any artificial color, and the high current output can perfectly handle headphones of any mpedance.
The frequency response is almost flat from 2 ~ 50KHz (< 1db). The amp is cased in a heavy aluminium box. Wiring is made using only silver cables. the harmonic distortion is reduced to a mere 0.2% at normal listening levels. The IMD (intermodulation distortion) is negligible.
The RP5.3 Tridens use a "capacitance multipier"power supply and an oversized power transformer in order to assure the right ammount of clean current to the audio section.
